The Mrs. Hutchinson's first graders visited the Maine Wildlife Park last Friday. Here are some of the photos they shared.

Due to the weather forecast, Picture Day is postponed to Friday, September 27th. Paper order forms went home September 20th. If you do not wish to order, we would love to have the order forms back. For those who miss Friday, or are unhappy with their photos, we will have a makeup day (not yet scheduled, but generally approx. 3 weeks later).

Mrs. Tardif shares: Here is Kindergarten doing Q-tip painting! Another great way to strengthen the muscles in our fingers!

Mrs. Tardif's Kindergartners are doing their first of many "Pin Pokies." This is an excellent fine motor activity, which strengthens their finger muscles for writing. If you tape it to a sunny window - the shape should shine through!

From Mrs. Tardif September 6th:
We learned how to draw a school bus today!

We are starting the year with a Scholastic Book Fair! The fair will be open during Open House on Thursday, September 5, from 5:30-6:30. Before Thursday, students will bring home information on the fair. There will also be times before school and during the day for students to shop on Friday, September 6, and Monday, September 9.

MALAGA ISLAND FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIP
Each year, fifth-grade students embark on a kayak field trip to Malaga Island as part of the grade-level curriculum enrichment. School bus transportation, kayaks, personal flotation devices, and wet suits are provided. Additional PES staff, and approved parent volunteers will assist Ms. McCauley and Mrs. Snell with supervision.
While kayaking is an enjoyable activity, it's important to acknowledge there are risks to being on the water. To mitigate these risks, we will ensure that all participants receive proper instruction, wear appropriate safety gear (such as life jackets), and adhere to safety guidelines throughout the trip. Additionally, we will closely monitor weather and water conditions to make informed decisions about the safety of the excursion.
By responding “I consent” to this email, you have given permission for your child to attend the kayak field trip to Malaga Island tomorrow, June 6, 2024.
