Today was a Fun Friday; we had Favorite Sports Team Jersey day, the 4th & 5th grade volleyball game, and marble painting in Art. Thank you, Mrs. Polizotto, for sharing the photos! Remember, Monday is the Hundredth Day of School at PES! To celebrate, we're wearing clothes with numbers on them, and will have some extra numbers if you don't any.

Mrs. Tardif shared a photo of her kindergarten class celebrating Groundhog Day, with their hand-colored headbands, last Friday.


Mrs. Brockett shared photos of more fun in the snow, had by preschoolers last month.








Mrs. Snell shared pictures of the 5th graders' Gulf of Maine Research Institute adventure. They became scientists for a time at GMRI, gathering and analyzing data on how changing ocean temperatures affect lobsters and black bass, and enjoyed traveling in style and comfort in the tour bus.

Ms. Phippen shared photos of fourth & fifth graders practicing for Battle of the Books. The Battle takes place at Woolwich Central School on Thursday, March 28th at 6PM. Go Teams!




Mrs. Hutchinson shared some photos of sledding fun from Wednesday!

Thanks to Mrs. Tardif for photos of her kindergarten class playing math games. She writes, "Here we are playing Bears on the Bus during Math time today. We've been learning the different combinations to make 10!"









You could hear the excitement coming from the gym when 4th & 5th graders had fun learning about solar power today, taught by Stacy Brown of Revision Energy. Thanks to Mrs. Snell for her photos.

Both buses are running late this morning; some roads are impassable due to flooding. Route 209 north of the school is fine.

To attend K-5 before school Mad Science, students must be registered online for the 8-wk $105 NASA session January 10th-March 6th. See LINK in the PES newsletter. Parents provide transportation to Wednesdays 8:15AM-9:20AM classes. Half scholarship available if contact Mrs. Doran by December 31st.

PES got a surprise when Mr. Grinch visited at dismissal the day before vacation. Thank you, Mrs. Tainter & Ms. Crowley, for sharing photos!


The third grade wrapped up their animal adaptation unit today by designing new reindeer that are able to fly through blustery wind, dodge falling trees, transmit electricity, and breathe underwater! Wow! Thank you for the photo, Mrs. Henderson.

In Science today, Mrs. Snell's 5th graders studied the chemical reactions in the process of making potato pancakes. What a yummy science experiment! Thank you, Mrs. G-P, for sharing the photos.
